Alcohol Awareness Month. April 1st marks the date of the 19th
Annual Alcohol Awareness Month, which is the time for parents, schools,
communities, organizations, and all of America to take a stand against
the problem that is costing the United States $185 billion dollars per
year, alcohol abuse and alcoholism. This year's theme is "Together,

Autism Awareness Month--Established in the 1970s to highlight
the growing need for concern and awareness about autism, April is a special
opportunity for everyone to educate the public about autism and issues
within the autism community. With 1 in 110 Americans now being diagnosed,
the need for services and supports is greater than ever, and this year
the Autism Society hopes to raise awareness of the many issues faced by

Sexual
Assault Awareness and Prevention Month--The April 2011 Sexual
Assault Awareness Month campaign focuses on everyone speaking up to prevent
sexual violence in our neighborhoods, communities, workplaces and schools.
The 2011 national Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) campaign explores
common, everyday behaviors and offers individuals viable, responsible
ways to intervene. This primary prevention approach helps to create environments
where people are safe in their relationships, families, neighborhoods,

Donate Life Month--National Donate Life Month (NDLM) was instituted
by Donate Life America and its members in 2003, and grew out of the federally
proclaimed National Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation Awareness Week (NOTDAW).
NDLM features an entire month of local, regional and national activities

Infant Immunization Week--National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW)
is an annual observance to highlight the importance of protecting infants
from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization
programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities. Since 1994,
NIIW has served as a call to action for parents, caregivers, and healthcare
providers to ensure that infants are fully immunized against 14 vaccine-preventable

MeningitisDay--On Sunday 24 April 2011 meningitis organisations
across the world will come together to raise awareness about the devastating
effects of meningitis and septicaemia and encourage prevention through
vaccination in the third annual World Meningitis Day. Meningitis and septicaemia
are deadly diseases that imapct the lives of hundreds of thousands of
families worldwide. Many people do not realise that some forms of these
